 Technician License Training Course Underway

Learning together with M.A.R.C.The Montgomery Amateur Radio Club is sponsoring a Technician License training course. Classes are being held at the Montgomery Red Cross facility from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursdays in August and September. Cost for the course is $50 which includes the textbook (a $25 value) and a coupon for a pre-paid examination session with the Montgomery ARRL VE Team (a $15 value). Interested individuals should contact Scott Poole via e-mail swpoole@yahoo.com or telephone (334) 262-0412 to register. Please pass the word - its still not too late!

 News: MARC is now a Non-Profit Entity

NewsAnnounced at last night's May Meeting, the Montgomery Amateur Radio Club is now a recognized 501(c)3 Non-Profit Entity. This is a project that has been in the works for a long time. Many thanks are due to all of the people that have had a hand in working on this. Congratulations to us all!

Silent KeySIDES, William Peyton "Pete", 101 a resident of Montgomery, AL died Thursday, December 10, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 12, 2009 from Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sides and a son, Peyton Andrew Sides. Mr. Sides retired after 41 years with Alabama Power Company and was an amateur radio operator for 80 years. Leak-Memory Chapel Directing www.leak-mc.com

 MARC 2009 Awards Banquet / Christmas Party

M.A.R.C. Christmas PartyPlease join us for the 2009 MARC Awards Banquet and Christmas Party on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 7:00PM. The party will be held at our normal meeting location at the Red Cross (5015 Woods Crossing Drive). Family and friend are welcome! The club will provide ham, turkey, and drinks. Bring your favorite covered dish and $4.00 per person to cover the cost of the meats. Annual awards will be presented after dinner and there will be drawings for door prizes. So, please plan to join us for what will certainly be a most enjoyable evening of food, friends, and fun.
