Introduction

Welcome to the Montgomery Amateur Radio Club CW page. It’s great that you are interested in learning Morse code and we trust that we will lay the foundations for your participation in an important part of the Amateur Service and our hobby. In the links below we will take you from zero to proficiency with CW. If you are a beginner, start with “Why Become a CW Operator” and move through each stage in the tutorial. If you have some familiarity with the code, you may want to skip some of the preliminaries and move right into the meat of the tutorial. We suggest those of you in the latter category browse the links listed below to see where you feel would be best for you to begin:
There are, incidentally, a number of sites on the Internet that address learning the Morse Code that you may wish to peruse. Of the most useful are the ARRL pages at www.arrl.org/learning-morse-code. You will find much helpful information there.

By the way, in this tutorial we are assuming that you have basic familiarity with computer use and software. If you do not, we recommend that you find a friend or another aspiring or licensed ham that can help until you get comfortable with this site and associated software. So, let’s get rollin’.
